This photograph was taken in September 2020 in Söderåsen national park. I walked past this scene and made a note of it in my mind, how close the tree was to the edge caught my interest. However later in the day, it started to rain heavily. I had to cover my camera with my lens cloth to protect it from all the rain. But the rain gave the landscape a very moody atmosphere. The wet leaves reflected the light from the overcast sky and made the landscape pop. The rain was so heavy that it became like fog, making the background less distracting. What makes Söderåsen so special, and this composition works because the forests just drop in elevation.
